Is staying indoors all the time just driving you up the wall? Here's the perfect way to get the most out of scaling those walls with some indoor rock climbing!
Take a trip down to Asia's first, and the world's tallest, indoor 'via ferrata' climbing wall at Orchard Central. Brought in by BorderX and towering at five stories, this 'via ferrata' wall is a fixed-protection climbing path made out of a system of cables along the wall, which means even a beginner climber would have the chance to reach the same heights as any experienced climber would.
Basically this special wall and its routes are equipped with fixed cables, staples, ladders and bridges for anyone to use. Standing at a grand height of 30 metres, it's divided into two sections - the 'via ferrata' wall and a 'regular' rock climbing wall.
On the 'via ferrata' wall itself, there are three routes all leading to the roof of Orchard Central. The rock climbing wall comprises of three routes equipped with an auto belay system, so anyone who wants to climb with minimal supervision may do so. Doing these routes in combination means you get to tailor your climbing route to different lengths and challenges.
To learn all about rock climbing, BorderX is offering a Climbing Introduction Programme (which means climbing on the auto belay wall) for $20 on weekdays and $25 on weekends and public holidays. To book your class, visit BorderX at Orchard Central Mall, 181 Orchard Road, #04-22 or call them at 6884 4870.
